This is a year-round comprehensive musical program that incorporates technical DJ training and music history education.
I would absolutely recommend BGR Queens camp to a friend. This is because I’ve gained so many sisters from all over the world. I’ve gained self-confidence and empowerment. I’ve learned that its not okay to settle for anything less than you want. I’ve gained all of the things needed to be a success in life and i would want my friend to become a better person and to experience all that I have experienced if no more.

Influential women from diverse industries engage mentees in positive discourses. Sessions expose participants to the stepping-stones for success via higher educational opportunities, strong work-ethic, discovering one’s individual voice and becoming positive role models for our global community.
I just want to personally thank you and tell you how much I appreciate you. Because of your vision and willingness to give something to the community, other young ladies and myself continue to be proud of the skin we are in and realize that we are the true embodiment of everything we aspire to be. Thanks for introducing me to my love of tap dance, DJing and to every other artistic workshop we took. The plays, shows, conferences, empowerment circles and taste the world sessions all had the biggest part to play in me choosing a college. BGR helped me to discover my love for all things arts and justice related. I love my people and you for being such a monumental part of my life.
Through a series of dynamic programs our camp will emphasize the importance of team work, striving for excellence, community service, and critical thinking in order to promote self-confidence, social development and active leadership.
Students benefit from introductory classroom instruction in the art of contemporary and classic guitar. Participants will study solo and ensemble performance, technique, music reading, interpretation, stage etiquette and music literature.
Broadway and off-Broadway works are followed by interviews and panel discussions with performers. This program is designed to expand mentees’ cultural and artistic horizons. These experiences increase their knowledge of careers within the performing arts and entertainment fields.
“Making the foreign familiar through an in depth understanding of the vibrant techniques and culture of the foods of the world.”
The Black Girls Rock ‘Taste The World’ program predisposes young women to different cultures through their sense of taste.
I love this!! I think this is a very empowering program. I would add a spiritual component to it, but I absolutely think that the program is so necessary. Love it.
