Tip #9: At the very least, when the child enters high school, 9th grade, you should start making plans for college. Get information about what courses your child needs to take to graduate high school and be eligible for college by attending back-to-school nights and meeting with the high school counselor and teachers. Moreover, research and visit prospective colleges. Find out their admission requirements, including minimal GPA (Grade Point Average) and SAT or ACT scores. Further, participate in school orientation to learn about the different activities available at your child's high school. Have them join clubs, play sports, and volunteer.
Sounds like a lot of work? Well, quite frankly, it is. But, it will pay off in the end, and it can also be a valuable shared experience between you and your child, as the family works together in planning for the future. And, in a lot of ways, it can also be a lot of fun. (I love college tours)

I feel like I don't know what questions to ask the schools or the teachers sometimes. How do I start to set up that plan? What should I do on day one? How do I know that my child is following the plan? I'm not sure if I'm equipped to do this. Help
