Kirkwood High School ranked No. 3 on the 2013 list of top-ranked Missouri schools released by U.S. News & World Report today.
That's up from No. 6 in the 2012 rankings.
The magazine released its annual report of 2013 Best High Schools Rankings today. St. Louis-area high schools swept the top five in the U.S. News survey. In additional to Kirkwood High at No. 3, they included Metro Academic and Classical High School in St. Louis at No. 1; Clayton High at No. 2; Marquette High in Chesterfield at No. 4; and Eureka High at No. 5.
U.S. News collaborated with the American Institutes for Research, a D.C.-based organization, to rank student performance on such criteria as state-mandated assessments, how the schools educated minority or poor students, and performance on advanced placement exams in order to develop the rankings.
