10 great internships you still have time to apply for

Chances are, you’ve probably heard the hype about the competitive job market. When beginning the ever-demanding job search, having relevant experience is key. In addition to impressive grades and glowing recommendations, internships can add polish to your resume. But these days, internships are no longer just extras; in fact, they’re necessities. There are a ton of opportunities out there, but they’re often hard to track down. It’s tough to stay up-to-date on the application processes, and many of us find out about deadlines after it’s too late.
Lucky for you, we’ve done the hard part and gathered a list of internships that you can apply for right now! Some of them have late fall or winter deadlines, and others have rolling admission. So what are you waiting for? Scan the list, find an internship that piques your interest, and submit your resume today!
1. ASME (American Society of Magazine Editors) Magazine Internship Program
About: The Magazine Internship Program is a 10-week program for rising college seniors at magazines in New York and Washington. ASME interns report, edit, fact-check and copy-edit for print and online publications. They may sometimes interview celebrities, attend press conferences and work the red carpet. But most of the summer they do the un-glam but essential work of magazine journalism.  Applicants must fill out an application form, send a letter of recommendation, and include clips. There is also a $25 processing fee. Apply here.
2. Bank of America Summer 2010 Internship
About: The Bank of America internship program offers paid compensation and opportunities for networking, professional development, and mentoring throughout the work cycle. Apply here.
3. Disney College Program
About: Participants have the opportunity to explore potential interests while advancing their educations and earning a salary. This program allows students to network, take personal development classes, and strengthen their leadership and communication skills. Interns work in various positions at one of the Disney theme parks and housing is available close by. Apply here.
4. ESPN International Production Spring 2012 Internship
About: Interns will prepare and edit various pre-production elements such as video clips, highlights, teases and features for use in live and taped events. Other duties include conducting research and establishing relationships with other networks. Apply here.
5. Every Day with Rachel Ray Spring 2012 Magazine Internship
About: Interns will be responsible for helping with product pages in addition to managing the product closet, calling in samples, styling merchandise meetings and some caption writing.
