Earlier this year, a U.S. Department of Education survey revealed that only 2% of American high school seniors understand the significance of Brown v. Board of Education.  This stunning level of unfamiliarity about one of the most significant judicial decisions in U.S. history illuminates that the way history is taught in many of our schools needs improvement.
