Personally, I LOVE uniforms. I wish all of my children can attend school from K-12th grade in just uniforms because I do believe it makes a difference in the school environment. It will make life so much easier for us financially. Not just from the financial aspect, but to me uniform teaches the child to be disciplined, it teaches order, it helps the child to not get caught up in all of the ever changing fashion trends, not trying to compete with their peers, less of a distraction and keeps them focus on their studies, etc. Our children have so many distractions and adding fashion is just one more distraction I can do without.
I love uniforms. I came from a uniform background. I wish all schools did it.
Its funny that this question was asked. I was speaking with someone yesterday about their daughter, who is now a freshman at a local university in St. Louis, and she was saying to me that one the best thing that ever happened to her daughter in high school was when she transferred her to a high school that implemented uniforms. Her daughter was no longer stressed about wearing the latest and the most expensive thing. She actually saw her grades changed after that point.
I am an advocate for school uniforms. I think it lessens the costs for parents and lessens peer pressure for children. I also think children can still accessorize to show their individuality. Just looking at the video clip shared on the blog yesterday, those young men looked so polished in their uniforms. I loved it!

My opinion, I DO NOT believe everyone should have to wear the same uniform, it removes the students diversity and lessens their individuality.
