Is it enough for us to send our children to school and tell them to do good. That puts a lot of responsibility on the school, the teacher, and the child. But, what responsibility does a parent have? So, how would you answer it...
What responsibility does an Israelite parent have for their child's educational success?
This is a great question to ask since this is a topic my husband and I stress over daily with our daughter. We have a first grader and my husband and I very involved in her school as well as extra curricular activities. This means we are in constant contact with her teacher, we do homework everyday, we read to her daily and vice versa, we take her to the library biweekly, etc. Our daughter's education is of the utmos importance because without an education my daughter's future would be extremely limited. Though she attends a gifted and talentd school, my husband and I still make sure we do extra work with her after school and on the weekends because we know with 22 students in one class with one teacher, our daugther is not given 100% attention. That is why we've developed a great relationship with all of her teachers and this is why my daughter has maintained an A average since thebeginning of school last August. I know as parents we get bogged down with outside distractions and there's never enough hour in the day, but as parents we owe our children our undivided attention when it coms to their education.
